Very excited to announce my work has been selected as a winner in the American Graphic Design Awards! The winning entries are Nadia Natario Photography Website, Event Nirvana Website and Aaron Braxton’s Website.
For nearly five decades, Graphic Design USA has presented national design competitions that spotlight areas of excellence and opportunity for creative professionals. The American Graphic Design Awards is the original and flagship, open to everyone in the community. It honors outstanding work across all media.
I’m also excited to announce that, the D’lilah Infused Teas Packaging will be included in The Big Book of Packaging by Crescent Hill Books, due out Spring 2011.

Mt. Sinai Child, Adolescent and Family Services has a lovely new wall to look at thanks to the wonderful efforts of Jessica Perilla and The Mural Project. The wall was donated to the hospital with the help of generous volunteers, and was filmed for Pepsi Yo Sumo‘s upcoming documentary on exemplary Latinos.
I’ve uploaded a few of my photos of the event, and will update this post as soon as Jessica uploads the official photos to her website.
You can also take a look at Johnny Perilla’s awesome behind the scenes video (might require a Facebook account to view).
As is tradition, I was woken up to my mother singing Happy Birthday to me. Each year, my parents call me first thing in the morning. Today, my mom called first, she let me sleep in this time (7:20am), LOL. Since then I’ve gotten calls and ecards from family, txt messages from friends and a plethora (I like to throw that in from time to time, oh, El Guapo) of birthday wishes on Facebook. I’m truly feeling blessed.
I usually take my birthday as a personal day to reflect on my life, be grateful for what I have and start thinking of what changes I’d like to make (and hopefully how to make them happen). Kind of like we all do on New Year’s. To me, it just feels a little more “right” to do it on my birthday. So I’ll start off the morning with some breakfast and TV and then a little introspection before we proceed with tonight’s festivities!
A bunch of us decided to submit a painting to the 6×6 Gallery May Art Show at Charming Wall and I’m very excited to say that my Towanda will be up May 7th! I’ve been supporting my friend Jeanine’s work at 6×6 Gallery for a while now, but this is the first time I’m actually submitting a piece. I’m actually very excited!
Here is a progression of my painting coming to life, hope you like it and I hope you’re able to pop by either for the opening or later on it the month!
