You don't need to take another course
I'm a self-diagnosed course junky. I'm also a sucker for lead gen freebies. I just love seeing how other people approach and explain things. I would tell you that I'm in recovery, but I literally just signed up to one of those virtual summits 3 days ago 😅
Where I get into trouble is those fast-action bonuses. My brain sometimes starts spinning when I see a counter clock. Yes, I know it's a marketing tactic, but I'm exactly the person on whom they work 🤦🏽♀️
(curious if you're in the same boat too 👀)
I used to beat myself up a little about this, especially if I didn't immediately translate what I learned into action. But what I've come to accept is that I'm a naturally curious girlie. If I have the bandwidth and resources, why not learn something new?
The point is not to judge myself and it's not even to stop myself from doing it. I don't need to restrict myself, but I do want to have some parameters. Whether it's a budget limit, specific topics or course length, these boundaries help me make the most of my time and resources.
I also want to make sure I'm not just in information hoarding mode. Which is what's actually on my mind as I write this.
One thing I've noticed for myself, when it comes to courses that are meant to help my business, is the primary reason I sign up is because I'm feeling lost in some way. I hit a wall and someone has framed the solution to my struggles inside a lovely, aspirational (and time-sensitive) little box with an equally lovely purple bow on top 🎀💜 ←pretend it's a purple bow, yes, it must be purple! 😂 IYKYK.
And here's where I contradict myself kinda...
You don't need to take another course.
You need to implement what you (likely) already know.
I stand by what I said earlier, I don't want to judge myself or stop myself from buying a course, but I have to ask myself what my reason is for wanting it in the first place. Because while I have invested in several courses and masterminds that are highly valuable—both in content and new connections—I've also spent money on several courses where I learned something that still lives rent-free in my head but with no action taken.
Don't worry, I'm not priming you for a new course I'm about to sell you, lol (tho I reserve the right to create one in the future if my audience clamors for it 😉). And I'm not here to put down freebies or paid courses because as I said at the top, course junky here 🙋🏽♀️
But if there's any part of you that suspects that you've been using that next course as a way to procrastinate on taking action on things you already know (but potentially feel too overwhelming to tackle), feel free to browse my offers and reach out.
Let's tackle those challenges together!
